How to care for an HD lace wig

HD lace is thinner than transparent lace, which is exactly why it disappears against the skin. It also means it asks for a gentler hand. Nothing here is complicated — it is mostly about slowing down at the hairline.

Handle the lace, not the hair, when you fit it

• Hold the cap by the ear tabs rather than pulling on the lace edge.
• Cut the lace with small snips following the hairline, leaving a millimetre or two.
• If you use adhesive, apply thin layers and let each one dry rather than one thick coat.
• Take it off with a proper adhesive remover, never by peeling.

Washing without stressing the knots

1. 01Remove all adhesive residue from the lace before it goes near water.
2. 02Shampoo the hair, not the lace, and stroke downwards only.
3. 03Rinse cool and blot the lace flat with a towel — no rubbing.
4. 04Air dry on a stand so the lace keeps its shape.
