180% vs 200% density: which should you pick?
4 min read

Density describes how much hair is attached to the wig cap, written as a percentage. It is not about quality — it is about fullness. Both 180% and 200% are full, glamorous densities; they simply give different results.
| 180% density | 200% density | |
|---|---|---|
| Feel | Full but natural | Very full, dramatic |
| Best for | Everyday wear, natural looks | Events, photos, statement styles |
| Styling | Easier to blow out and sleek down | Holds big volume beautifully |
| Weight | Lighter on the head | Noticeably heavier |
| Density | How it looks | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 130% | Natural, close to average hair | Subtle, undetectable everyday looks |
| 150% | Full | The safe all-rounder |
| 180% | Very full | Glam that still passes as natural |
| 200%+ | Dramatic volume | Events, photos, big styling |
Density and texture interact
Curly textures already look fuller because each curl takes up space, so 180% curly can look as dense as 200% straight. If you are buying straight or kinky straight and want real presence, lean higher.
